The Town of Flower Mound will host a community workshop next week to discuss plans for a $50 million performing arts center that is planned for the River Walk area.
The discussion will take place at Town Hall on Dec. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will include a presentation, followed by questions and input from residents.
The town has been working on building a cultural arts center on 3.67 acres of town-owned land since 2018. The space could include a main stage theater, exhibition space, and gallery.
In October, the town council approved a contract with Hoefler Welker + BORA Architects for pre-design services, which cost $583,000. Pre-design is estimated to take 15 weeks.
The entire project has a budget of $50 million and construction is expected to cost $40 million, according to planning documents. The grand opening is expected by 2029.
