Local news organizations have shrunk in recent decades. The Dallas-Morning News and Denton Record-Chronicle used to cover Flower Mound regularly, but don’t anymore. Without that oversight, residents lose valuable context and the ability to understand what is going on in their town.

We Live Here

This town was built by residents who pitched in to create something that they had a say in. We want to help continue that legacy.

We don’t parachute in just for the big stories and leave after a week. Flower Mound is our home. We care about how our tax dollars are being spent and want you to be a well-informed neighbor.

We Think We’re Worth It

It takes time to craft a story that makes a complicated issue digestible for the casual reader. We do everything by hand here. We meet with community leaders in person, attend or watch every town council meeting, and write stories from a blank Word document. AI is not used to research or write any articles on North Texas Sun. It is pure shoe leather journalism.
