North Texas Sun is an online news publication with its focus on Flower Mound and the U.S. House District around it. We’ll dive into issues residents are facing, where the community is headed, and give a glimpse into the history of our town. There won’t be a police blotter or a list of store openings — just news stories and in-depth features.
It’s run by me, Mary Beth Gahan
I’m a journalist with bylines in The New York Times, Washington Post, and Texas Monthly. Before freelancing, I covered city council in the two largest cities in Virginia for a daily newspaper. My first bylines were in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, a paper my parents still get each morning. Local news is instrumental and I want to write about things that are affecting me, my family, and my neighbors. Flower Mound is my home. It’s time to shine a light on it.
